Job summary
University of Central Missouri (UCM) is seeking a System Administrator I to manage Windows and/or Linux servers, ensure proper installation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance. The role includes troubleshooting, scripting, and supporting campus-wide systems with a focus on security and reliability.
Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with ADS/LDAP, and experience with load balancers like Netscalar and IPVS.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Technology or related field and 4+ years of hands-on server experience.
- Experience administering Windows and/or Linux servers in an enterprise environment.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot server and network issues and implement fixes.
- Familiarity with load balancers (Netscalar) and IPVS preferred.
- Knowledge of authentication systems (ADS/LDAP) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, document, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers and related inventory.
- Perform server and network maintenance, including firewall configurations and patch management.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for work orders and campus-wide systems.
- Assist with load balancing, proxy servers, and security improvements.
