Job summary

NWPX Infrastructure is seeking an Associate System Administrator to help install, configure, and maintain our server infrastructure and enterprise applications. You will work under senior IT staff to ensure systems stay secure, reliable, and available for business operations.

You will assist with routine maintenance, backups, documentation, and user support while developing skills in VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Equivalent combination of education, internships, certifications, and experience will be considered.
• Experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, or Microsoft 365 is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering and maintaining VMware virtual servers and Windows Server environments.
• Support Active Directory administration, including user accounts and permissions.
• Perform routine server maintenance, OS updates, and security patching.
• Monitor server health and performance, escalate issues as needed.
• Assist with backup and recovery processes and verify backups.
• Support Microsoft 365 administration and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain storage systems and server infrastructure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Troubleshoot issues with senior team members; participate in upgrades and tech refreshes.
