Summary

The Field IT Systems Administrator with CoolSys Energy Solutions (CES) will support office expansions and relocations, managing network connections, desks, video walls, etc. Responsibilities include architecting, planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and infrastructure, including cloud systems. The role focuses on ensuring platform stability, data consistency, availability, performance, and security, aligned with company priorities. The administrator will diagnose and resolve performance issues, lead troubleshooting efforts, and plan hardware and software updates to prevent obsolescence.

Responsibilities

• Travel approximately 45% of the time.
• Engineer hypervisor machines.
• Maintain and upgrade Active Directory, Windows, Citrix, hypervisor, and storage environments.
• Recommend and implement performance-enhancing configuration changes.
• Manage networking equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Analyze failures and implement measures to minimize outages.
• Develop policies to improve system performance and stability.
• Oversee maintenance of Windows, Citrix, Nutanix, and networking hardware, including patch management.
• Lead infrastructure outage responses.
• Assist vendors in troubleshooting server issues.
• Recommend monitoring and administration tools for on-premises and cloud systems.
• Manage backup infrastructure to ensure data recoverability.
• Implement security measures against cybersecurity threats.
• Resolve tickets and tasks promptly.
• Document systems comprehensively.
• Provide root cause analysis for complex issues.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel nationally (DMV license required).
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, NetApp, Nutanix, or Citrix.
• Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Attention to detail, ethics, confidentiality, and customer service skills.
• Strong analysis, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
