Job summary

City of Muskogee is seeking a Systems Administrator to oversee the City’s server, storage, virtualization, identity management, and core technology infrastructure. You will provide advanced technical support and ensure availability of critical business systems.

Responsibilities include Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 services, and proactive monitoring. Collaboration with IT planning and security teams is essential for reliable operations.

Qualifications

Two years of server and PC troubleshooting in a networked environment, plus related education.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Azure services.
Ability to document procedures and maintain accurate record systems.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related infrastructure.
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Monitor server health, storage utilization, system performance, and infrastructure availability.
Perform routine server maintenance, updates, firmware upgrades, and security patching.
Develop, maintain, and regularly test backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats, system alerts, and security incidents.
Implement and maintain endpoint security, antivirus, and vulnerability management solutions.
Administer virtualization infrastructure including VMware and virtual machine lifecycle management.
Maintain storage systems, SAN/NAS devices, and backup appliances.
Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, configuration standards, and disaster recovery documentation.
Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and infrastructure improvements.
Participate in IT project planning, implementation, and technology deployments.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring infrastructure and systems issues.
Maintain software licensing and server inventory records.
Coordinate with software and hardware vendors for technical support and warranty issues.
Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and emergency response for critical systems.
Provide Tier II technical support and serve as an escalation point for Desktop Support staff.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for server and infrastructure administration.
