Job summary

Eastern Kentucky University seeks a Systems Administrator to oversee the enterprise computing infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role requires broad expertise in server OS, virtualization, IAM, and storage, with several certifications encouraged.

The position is hybrid, located at Richmond Campus, with a fulltime schedule and Exempt salary grade. A Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/IS/Cybersecurity and 3 years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field and three years of progressively responsible systems administration experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, systems administration, automation, or related technologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, backup/recovery, patching, monitoring, and networking basics.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Systems & Cloud Administration - manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Identity & Microsoft Infrastructure - IAM, Entra ID/AD, and access governance.
• Security, Patching & Vulnerability Remediation - protect systems and apply updates.
• Automation, Monitoring & Performance - implement automation and monitor health.
• Backup, Disaster Recovery & Continuity - ensure data protection and recoverability.
