Job summary

Catholic Charities seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to manage server and network infrastructure, ensure endpoint security and compliance, and provide user support and training. The role requires a strong technical background and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Based in Saint Cloud, MN, you will oversee server and cloud infrastructures, implement security policies, and maintain IT documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in a multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Server management: install, configure, and maintain server infrastructure with backups and DR planning.
• Network management: administer switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi‑Fi access points.
• Endpoint and phone systems: deploy and manage devices with security and encryption.
• Security and compliance: enforce security policies, conduct audits, respond to incidents, manage accounts.
• User support and training: assist staff and create IT documentation and guides.
• Other duties as required.

Job Summary

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our server and network infrastructure, ensuring endpoint security and compliance, and providing user support and training. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

• Server Management
• Oversee and manage server and cloud infrastructure by installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware/software; ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity through regular updates, backups, disaster recovery planning, and troubleshooting.
• Network Management
• Manage and optimize network infrastructure by installing, configuring, and maintaining access points, switches, firewalls, and VPNs; ensuring network security, performance, and resolving related issues.
• Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint devices and phone systems, ensuring security through detection and encryption solutions, while monitoring performance, compliance, and maintaining overall functionality.
• Security and Compliance
• Implement and enforce security policies, conduct audits and vulnerability assessments, ensure compliance with industry standards, respond to security incidents, and manage user account administration.
• User Support Training
• Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, conduct staff training on best practices and security, and create and maintain IT documentation and user guides.

What we’re looking for (Required Qualifications)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience)

Experience:

4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role supporting users in a multi-location environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of server and network management
• Familiarity with endpoint security and compliance standards
• Experience with phone system support and cloud management
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Current industry recognized certifications including one or more of the following: CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Network+, Security+, Server+, VCP-DCV preferred
