Job summary

Catholic Community Services of Western Washington in Seattle seeks a Systems Administrator I within the Information Technology Department. You will install, configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure to support users and services.

Responsibilities cover systems & network maintenance, user support, security/compliance, and administration. Requires 5+ years supporting PC hardware, Windows, networks, Active Directory, and cloud services.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting end-users with PC hardware, software, and LAN problems.
  • Broad IT knowledge: PCs, Windows, networks, Internet, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, cloud services.
  • Solid Microsoft product knowledge; strong communication and customer service skills.

On-site: System Administrator I | Full-Time

The Systems Administrator I is responsible for regional or agency specific installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure and services. Serving as a key member of the Information Technology team, the Systems Administrator I will ensure all systems align with our organizational standards and enables users to effectively adopts available technologies.

This position will supportRegional or Local Data, Voice, and Secure Wireless Networks, critical and business productivity applications; Windows systems and application and software used by employees and volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems & Network Maintenance
  • Hardware & Decie Support: Maintain, configure, and upgrade servers, PCs, mobile devices, peripherals, and storage.
  • Network & Connectivity: Install and maintain local routers, modems, LANs, Wi-Fi, and VPNs under network engineer guidance.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Perform daily system, server, and backup checks; report issues immediately to IT leadership.
  • System Updates: Apply OS patches, software updates, and optimize resources for automation and consolidation.
User Support & Operations
  • Technical Helpdesk: Provide remote, phone, and on-site technical support to users. Resolve escalated request tickets.
  • Troubleshooting & Recovery: Investigate hardware or software failures, log solutions, and coordinate recoveries with users.
  • Ticketing Management: Maintain and update the internal ticketing system while monitoring for stale requests.
  • Staff Collaboration: Attend interdepartmental meetings and assist local or regional support contacts with minor issues.
Security, Compliance, & Infrastructure
  • Run regular security checks and monitor anti-malware consoles for breaches or intrusions.
  • Follow and reinforce organizational IT standards, policies, and HIPAA compliance guidelines.
  • Oversee telecommunications, security solutions, cloud services, and network hardware.
Administration
  • Execute tasks from IT Directors and delegate appropriate technical duties to Support Specialists.
  • Other duties assigned as business needs change.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in successfully supporting end-users with PC hardware, software, peripherals and LAN problems.
  • Broad-based knowledge of information technology, particularly with emphasis on PCs, Windows- based applications, networks, the Internet, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, wireless devices, and cloud services.
  • High level knowledge and understanding of variety of computer software programs with emphasis on Microsoft products.
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of computer repair and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and networked environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience including the ability to patiently communicate and share technical details in a professional, polite and articulate manner, with both novice and experienced diverse population of PC users.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service, with strong interpersonal skills and patience is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal skills and patience required.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and the need for minimal supervision when necessary.
  • Ability to contribute to a work environment that fosters respect, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive to all local and remote CCS/CHS sites.

Full-timeposition starting at $35.75/hr. (D.O.E) with a competitive benefits package:
