Systems Administrator

Minnetonka is a privately owned and operated fourth-generation family business seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to provide frontline technology support and administer the systems that keep the business running smoothly. Minnetonka develops, manufactures, imports, and sells products to wholesale customers and directly to consumers.

Summary:

This role supports Microsoft 365 and identity services, BlueCherry and EDI operations, cybersecurity monitoring and remediation, servers, networks, backups, end-user devices, and technical documentation. The Systems Administrator will resolve day-to-day issues, maintain reliable and secure systems, and partner with the Director of IT and external technology providers on escalations, major projects, and specialized engineering needs.

Minnetonka is looking for someone who is service-oriented, curious, organized, and comfortable working across departments. The successful candidate will take ownership of problems, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users, document solutions, and balance immediate support needs with proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide frontline help desk and technical support for employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, printing, network connectivity, and application issues.
  • Administer endpoint management platforms, workstation deployment, software distribution, device compliance, and system lifecycle management.
  • Support onboarding, role changes, and offboarding by preparing equipment, provisioning access, validating permissions, and completing required security steps.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, user accounts, groups, permissions, licensing, multifactor authentication, and identity-related access in accordance with company standards.
  • Support BlueCherry ERP and EDI operations by troubleshooting user and transaction issues, coordinating partner onboarding, documenting resolutions, and escalating complex issues to the Director of IT, CGS, or other vendors as needed.
  • Monitor systems and security alerts and assist with phishing response, email controls, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, patching, and other daily cybersecurity activities.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, operating systems, software applications, peripherals, and related technology.
  • Perform routine server, backup, and infrastructure administration; verify system health and elevate outages or advanced engineering issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and lifecycle records for hardware, software, licenses, accounts, devices, and other technology assets.
  • Execute routine system administration, maintenance, and security tasks in accordance with established IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist with network and cabling maintenance, equipment installation, rack organization, and infrastructure remediation projects.
  • Assist with implementation of infrastructure, security, and business technology projects under the direction of the Director of IT.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, system diagrams, user instructions, configuration records, and troubleshooting knowledge articles.
  • Assist with disaster recovery, backup validation, business continuity, and incident response activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues, perform maintenance, and support ongoing technology initiatives.
  • Provide secondary coverage for critical technology needs during absences, peak business periods, and outages.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience in systems administration, IT support, infrastructure support, or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, identity and access management, Windows desktop support, and Windows Server administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting networks, endpoints, printers, software applications, user accounts, and permissions.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including multifactor authentication, least privilege, phishing response, patching, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint protection.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities with limited direction and operate calmly during outages or other high-priority incidents.
  • Ability to work primarily in the office and provide hands-on support for users and infrastructure.
  • Prefer experience with:
