Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract-based Systems Administrator to maintain and support Linux (Ubuntu) environments, VMware infrastructure, and automation via Ansible. This fully remote role is based out of Raleigh, NC, with a competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits for a contract position.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, develop automation, and collaborate with networking, storage, and applications teams to improve lab environments and rely on standard documentation and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Linux systems (Ubuntu) and virtualization environments.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and repeatable processes.
• Proven VMware administration and troubleshooting skills.

• Maintain and support the infrastructure.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux, primarily Ubuntu, environments.
• Support and maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure.
• Use Ansible to automate infrastructure administration and repeatable processes.
• Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Help implement new infrastructure solutions and improve existing lab environments.
• Support system monitoring, access management, OS patching, security, and infrastructure reliability.
• Create technical documentation and share knowledge across the team.
• Collaborate with other technical team members to resolve cross-system issues.
• Learn and work with new technologies as the lab environment evolves.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
