Job summary

TransCore, LP is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to join our Harrisburg, PA, Houston, TX, or Miramar, FL offices. The role focuses on maintaining software, hardware, and network infrastructure while minimizing downtime.

The candidate will configure AD, GPOs, and security controls, work with Azure/PowerShell, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This hybrid position requires in-office presence three days weekly.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–6 years IT experience with systems administration focus.
• Microsoft 365 administration experience required.

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to join our team in Harrisburg PA, Houston TX, or Miramar FL.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The candidate should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently with the least amount of downtime.

Primary focus will be on:

• Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
• Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
• Collaborating with team members about ongoing and future projects
• Using AI to automate daily tasks and requests

Essential Duties will include the following, but not limited to:

• Manage network servers and technology tools
• This is expected to be a hybrid position. Ability to work in the office 3 days per week
• Maintain Microsoft AD and Group Policies
• Setting up accounts and workstations
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff in new technologies
• Develop, maintain, and update internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
• Assist third-party help desk with troubleshooting issues
• Create step-by-step KB articles for the helpdesk
• Make sure servers and workstations have our security and management tools installed
• Work with vendors to upgrade or migrate applications
• Review automated reports and the ability to act on them when needed

Requirements and skills:

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator,Network Administrator,or similar role
• Experience with databases, basic network troubleshooting (LAN,WAN,vWAN) and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection/prevention systems) and data backup/recovery
• Familiarity with Hyper-V, Azure, and PowerShell scripting
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to follow the industry standard
• Experience in Microsoft Office 365 office suite and tools
• Proficient in troubleshooting Window 11 OS
• Self-motivation, innovative thinking and the ability to work with a team
• In depth knowledge of M365 administration including Entra ID and SharePoint Admin
• Experience with Intune management and Conditional Access Policies (CAPs)
• Familiarity with Privileged Access Management (PAM)

Education:

• BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline and 3-6 years of IT experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
• CompTIA Network + or Security +
