Job summary

Link Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator II to join our team in Franklin, KY. The role covers deployment, maintenance, and support of Windows and Linux systems, Office 365/Azure AD, VOIP, and POS environments.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of IT experience, knowledge of PFsense, Docker, and backup procedures, and the ability to work independently under pressure. On-call responsibilities apply, with a focus on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in IT or equivalent; bachelor’s preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant IT/Systems Admin experience.
• Certifications are preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of Linux OS and server maintenance.
• Experience with Windows Server families 2008-2022.
• Office 365/Azure AD with AD Sync administration.
• VOIP and POS system knowledge (FreePBX, Agilysys).
• Experience with backup/recovery (Synology) and virus protection tools.
• Networking knowledge including PFsense, Mesh, and BGP.
• Docker/Container knowledge; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy new PC hardware, printers, and desktop software.
• Install and support productivity tools like Office, Sage MAS90.
• Perform server/workstation upgrades and maintenance.
• Monitor virus threats and ensure security updates.
• Perform data backups and manage ticketing system.
• Support phone system, cell phones, Intune MDM.
• Develop cost-effective IT solutions and coordinate with vendors.
• On-call for critical systems 24/7 as needed.
• Advise users on hardware choices for applications.
• Follow policies and perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in Information Technology, MIS or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
• Industry certifications are preferred but not required
• Knowledge of computer science and the methods, techniques, practices, and procedures utilized in computer programming.
• Knowledge of Linux and maintenance of Linux systems.
• Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of hardware.
• Knowledge of information systems, technologies, and applications.
• Knowledge in basic operation/support of VOIP Phone systems. (FreePBX)

• Knowledge in technical support and administration of comprehensive virus control program.
• Knowledge in support and administration of comprehensive backup/recovery procedures. (Synology)
• Knowledge in supporting data communications infrastructures and related hardware/software.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for deployment of all new PC hardware, printers, and desktop application software.
• Installs and supports productivity tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Sage MAS90, etc.
• Performs installs, upgrades and maintenance on servers, workstations, laptops, and printers.
• Monitors current virus threats to ensure network is up to date on needed software.
• Performs backups of business data.
• Manage ticketing system
• Supports phone system and cell phones, InTune Mobile Management.
• Takes initiative to develop and implement solutions to problems that result in a more efficient and cost-effective systems and/or procedures.
• Works with consultants and/or vendors involved in system implementations to ensure compliance with project contracts and to ensure scopes of projects are completed.
• Responsible for being on call for support of critical systems 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
• Provides consultation to users in the selection of appropriate PC and/or printer hardware for their specific application needs.
• Complies with all policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
