Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a System Validation Engineer to partner with the Hardware Designing team to validate in-house servers and workstation platforms. You will troubleshoot, define technical specs, and create testing configurations to verify system stability and reliability.

You will collaborate with internal engineering and product teams on various projects. The role requires validating motherboard and server systems, performing OS testing on Linux and Windows, and reporting QA issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE or similar.
• Familiar with server and computer architecture.
• Basic knowledge of networking/TCP-IP and Linux operating system.
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform motherboard and server system application validation testing
• Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various operating systems such as Linux and Windows
• Perform motherboard and hardware functional validation testing
• Perform server configuration and system performance testing
• Report hardware and software quality assurance issues into bug tracking systems
• Duplicate customer’s motherboard issue if needed
• Work with customers and product management to understand production use of the product and advanced functionality requirements

Job Summary

Supermicro Computer is currently looking for a talented System Validation Engineer to partner with the Hardware Designing team to validate in-house servers and workstation platforms, troubleshoot and detect any problems of current validation projects. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical specifications, testing configurations to verify system stability and reliability. In this position you will have the opportunity to work with both internal engineering and product teams on various projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

• Perform motherboard and server system application validation testing
• Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various operating systems such as Linux and Windows
• Perform motherboard and hardware functional validation testing
• Perform server configuration and system performance testing
• Report hardware and software quality assurance issues into bug tracking systems

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE or similar
• Familiar with server and computer architecture
• Basic knowledge of networking/TCP-IP and Linux operating system
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-4+ years of working experience in system or component testing
• Familiar with HPC, data center, networking architecture, system mechanics, etc.
• Expert technical knowledge of designing and implementing Server systems
• Benchmarking experience

Salary Range

$95,000 - $113,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
