Job summary

Southeastern Computer Consultants, Inc. (SCCI) is seeking a System Tester to support Independent Validation and Verification testing to ensure conformance of software functionality prior to weapons system releases. The successful candidate must learn new technical concepts quickly; the role is based in Dahlgren, VA.

Required is U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance and a BS degree in an engineering/science discipline, plus at least three years of DoD weapon system testing experience.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance required to access DoD systems.
• Bachelor of Science in engineering, science, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of DoD weapon system testing experience and test planning ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop test procedures and plans for diverse system tests.
• Conduct IV&V, regression, endurance testing and update test lines as needed.
• Document real-time test thinking and methodologies to prove validity.
• Perform system testing to meet DoD/DON standards and safety requirements.
• Verify Gun Computer System MK 160 GWS meets operational specs.

Job description

Overview

SCCI is seeking a System Tester to join our team! In this position you will support Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) testing to ensure conformance of software functionality prior to weapons system application release to the fleet. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities

• Assess requirements and develop Test Procedures / Plans for a variety of system tests
• Conduct IV&V of corrected application deficiencies, participate in regression testing, endurance testing, and provide procedural red line updates as required
• Provide real-time documentation of critical thinking/test methodology to ensure a valid test is performed to meet requirement specifications
• Conduct System Testing of program requirements to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DOD)/Department of the Navy (DON) testing standards
• Ensure the Gun Computer System (GCS) Mark (MK) 160 Gun Weapons System (GWS) meets all operational, performance, and safety requirements

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
• Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience, such as direct hands-on experience with a particular system application
• Three (3) years of experience testing DoD weapon system; Experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test execution
• Proven problem solving, written and oral communication skills and the ability to:
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
  • Work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel
  • Work with others to meet established goals and program schedules
  • The ability to create and perform both manual and automated testing
• Experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in any of the Linux and Unix environments
• Experience with any of the following: C, C++, Java, Ada programming languages
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (or related) programs
• Experience with the DoD Acquisition lifecycle
