Job summary

SCCI is seeking an Electrical Technician to support a Weapon System Program in Dahlgren, VA. You will work with engineering design teams and end-users through design, integration, and iterative prototyping and testing of tactical systems.

The role requires building and testing hardware, traveling to support test events, and maintaining thorough documentation and test data while coordinating with the Engineering and R&D teams. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance
• High school diploma
• Experience with electronic test equipment and testing protocols
• Experience with hardware assembly, testing and repair including soldering and cable repair
• Experience with shipboard testing
• Ability to travel (10-25%) with occasional trips up to 3 weeks
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and test wire harnesses, CCAs, and electronic enclosures
• Prepare and ship equipment for off-site test events and install test equipment during integration test events
• Support engineers at test events CONUS/OCONUS as needed
• Assist with design and documentation in support of test events
• Execute tests using test equipment such as Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Function Generators and Power Supplies
• Collect, analyze, and document test data/results and provide analysis to Engineering and R&D
• Maintain detailed test data in lab notebooks and active test logs
• Keep inventory of available equipment and procure supplies for labs and engineering
• Analyze equipment failures and provide solutions and recommendations

Overview

SCCI is seeking an Electrical Technician to join our team in support of a Weapon System Program. In this position you will provide direct support to rapid acquisition and tactical prototyping projects. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the engineering design teams, as well as with end-users and management throughout the design, integration and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
• High school diploma
• Experience with electronic test equipment and testing protocols
  • Experience must include developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research, development, inspection, maintenance, assisting engineers, inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data
• Experience with hardware assembly, testing and repair to include soldering and cable repair
• Experience with shipboard testing
• Ability to travel (10-25%), with some travel duration up to 3 weeks in length
• Ability to do manual labor (carrying heavy equipment) and tolerate shipboard work environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents
• Attention to detail in project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Five (5+) years of professional experience with DoD programs
• Demonstrated proficiency in test and evaluation of DoD equipment
• Familiarity with logistics support
• Active Secret Security Clearance
