Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a System Safety & Reliability Engineer to ensure safety and reliability attributes of our products are understood and risks are managed to an acceptable level. The role blends mathematics, reliability engineering, and systems thinking to support complex products operating in challenging environments.

You will model failure mechanisms, perform hazard assessments, and develop data-driven insights across component, system, and fleet levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering (US citizen required).
• Multiple disciplines collaboration and communication at system level are desired.
• Experience with safety and/or reliability engineering tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand degradation and failure mechanisms and model them to reduce hazards.
• Assess design solutions and deploy models at component, system, asset, and fleet levels.
• Support Safety & Reliability analyses during development and product introduction.
• Contribute to FRACAS and reliability initiatives in service.
