Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a System Protection Technician T1 to join our team in Virginia. You will gain hands-on experience with protection and control equipment, relays, and OT systems across substations, under supervision, building foundational skills for a career in system protection.

You’ll participate in installation, testing, maintenance, and documentation, advancing to more independent tasks while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and project collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a related field by 2026.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience with education as required.
• Knowledge of electrical theory, circuits and protection systems.
• Familiar with relay technology and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience with senior team members on protection equipment.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and testing of protection assets.
• Verify functionality and communications of protection systems at installation.
• Maintain and test protection systems and complete compliance paperwork.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure successful completion.
