Job summary

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a System Layout Professional to join our Warren, MI team. You will place automated robotic systems in manufacturing facilities using CAD tools like FactoryCAD and AutoCAD, developing detailed zone and system layouts to optimize production flows.

You will collaborate with processing, robotic simulation, and design teams to ensure seamless integration, accuracy, and safety. Occasional travel to client sites for on-site support may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in System Layout or Plant layout with automated robotics.
• Experience designing utilizing AutoCAD 3D or 2D.
• Familiarity with FactoryCAD.
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads.

Responsibilities

• Report to the System Layout Lead.
• Virtually place automated robotic systems in a manufacturing facility using CAD software, including FactoryCAD.
• Develop comprehensive zone and system layouts to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Ensure proper placement and reach of automotive and automated robotic systems to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with other areas of the team, including processing, robotic simulation, and design, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
• Occasionally travel to customer facilities to provide on-site support and ensure successful implementation of layouts.
