Job summary

bioMérieux in Missouri is seeking a System Engineering Co-op to support the Systems Engineering team in developing and testing medical devices used to automate in-vitro diagnostic testing in microbiology labs.

You will be mentored by directors and senior engineers, perform verification tests, troubleshoot issues, and learn the BioMerieux Design Control process, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards during an 8–12 month assignment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in a related Systems, Biomedical, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering program and completed 1 full year.
• Active enrollment in a participating university's formal Co-Op Program and meet all university requirements to receive academic co-op credit.
• Must be enrolled in a formal cooperative education (co-op) program at WashU or Mizzou.

Responsibilities

• Support the Systems Engineering team in development and testing of medical devices.
• Create and execute verification tests; troubleshoot and evaluate instrument issues and design alternatives.
• Learn BioMerieux Design Control process and regulatory requirements.
• Perform work in compliance with quality procedures and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
