Job summary

DCCA is seeking a System Engineer Level 6 in Maryland with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph requirement. The role focuses on systems engineering across DoDAF and SOA architectures, with responsibility for requirements, documentation, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities include correlating telemetry with system issues, performing analyses, and designing experiments to characterize behavior in high-performance computing environments. Strong Linux expertise is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.
  • PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - DoDAF, Service-oriented Architecture.
  • Assists with the allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Will correlate events/telemetry visible in dashboards to system issues
  • Rationalize and document system behavior in the presence of system issues; derive insights from the data
  • Design experiments to isolate and characterize specific types of behavior
  • Collaborate with analytic developers to capture needs for analytics
  • Monitor dashboards for abnormal behavior

  • The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 180,000 to 240,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
