Job summary

RTX is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer in Las Cruces, NM to support real-time command and control and mission planning for a 24/7 operations environment. You will learn to document performance, validate requirements, and assist with testing in a collaborative aerospace setting.

Qualified candidates hold a STEM degree and have scripting experience (Perl, Python, VBA). Onsite work and shift flexibility are required; Top Secret/SCI CI Poly clearance is needed before start.

This is an onsite entry level role located in Las Cruces, NM. We are seeking Systems Engineers to work as part of a team that performs and provides Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (OM&E) Command and Control functions to our proprietary customer. Key areas of focus include Satellite Flight Operations, Mission Planning, Vehicle Operations and Engineering, and Ground Systems Engineering in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. As such, availability for non-scheduled call-in is required and the job assignment requires working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the adaptable needs of the team. Systems Engineers will support operational teams as part of a larger team including many experts in their fields. Top Secret/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph is required prior to start. This process can take up to 15 months for issuance so Fall 2027 or later start is expected.

What You Will Do

As a systems engineer you will learn and assist in execution of real-time command and control and mission planning activities to satisfy customer requirements. As an entry level engineer you will be tasked to document system performance, interact with other team members to validate operational requirements and support test activities as necessary. This work will be in support of maintaining a 24/7 operational system up and running through procedural responses and problem-solving abilities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, radio frequency, electrical components, digital signal processing, or other related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with Perl, Python, VBA and/or other scripting languages
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning techniques and styles
  • Proficient use of both Windows and Unix platforms
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
