Why Battery Charger Products (BCP):
Rechargeable batteries have been around for decades and continue to see strong growth as the tech industry pushes towards more environmentally-friendly solutions. Battery charger ICs are key components in these systems, helping charge batteries safely and extend device runtime. The markets targeted by BCP include Personal Electronics (e.g., earbuds, smartphones), Industrial (e.g., medical devices), and Automotive (e.g., emergency-call and backup systems).

We are looking for a System Engineer to join our team of trailblazers in bringing state-of-the-art battery charger ICs to our customers worldwide. As part of the system team, you will work directly with customers on product definition, adoption, and technical support. You will take ownership of one or more products in the battery charger portfolio to drive customer engagement, resolve technical issues, and support production ramp-up. Collaboration with our field application and technical sales teams will be essential to grow revenue and secure design wins.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Create new product definitions, develop business cases, strategize, and bring products to production.
  • Analyze technology trends, identify opportunities for performance improvements, and add value for customers. Drive design wins for new products.
  • Assess and negotiate IC development tradeoffs with design teams and customers.
  • Provide quick resolutions during project execution and customer support by interfacing across engineering functions such as design, application, test, and validation.
  • Create technical documentation including datasheets, system specifications, and validation plans.
  • Build relationships with customers and field teams to identify and resolve system issues using TI silicon.
  • Support and train internal applications engineering and sales teams on existing and new products.

Minimum requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in power supply system design, including synchronous buck, boost, and buck-boost DC-DC converters.
  • Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal ICs and their applications.
  • Experience in promoting ICs and securing design wins through system solutions.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of DC-DC power converter topologies and control architectures such as voltage-mode, current-mode, and constant-on-time control.
  • Knowledge of power management products, including various DC-DC topologies, linear regulators, battery chargers, and related standards.
  • Experience with system-level circuit modeling using tools like Matlab, SPICE, or Simplis.
  • Hands-on debugging experience in the lab and solving customer problems.
  • Strong skills in technical specifications negotiation and new product definition.
  • Ability to develop business cases and guide teams in technical challenges to define innovative, cost-effective products.
  • Experience in schematics review, PCB layout, and supporting technical issues during product development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate across functions.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build influential relationships to maximize organizational success.
