Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Thursday – Monday | 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM (Evening Shift)
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Systems Engineer to ensure our automated robotic platforms operate at peak reliability and performance. In this role, you will be the primary technical owner onsite—monitoring system health, troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical and software issues, performing routine maintenance, and partnering closely with customer scientists and central engineering teams.
If you thrive at the intersection of robotics, mechatronics, and real-time systems troubleshooting, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- System Reliability & Uptime: Maintain system uptime and performance across daily protocol runs, ensuring automated platforms operate at peak efficiency.
- Onsite Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve operational hardware, software, and electro-mechanical issues using SOPs, system playbooks, and root-cause analysis.
- Incident Management & Escalations: File clear, structured incident reports with relevant telemetry and metadata to **escalate** complex issues to core engineering teams.
- Proactive Health Monitoring: Monitor platform health in real time using dashboards and telemetry tools to identify and mitigate anomalies before they result in run failures.
- Maintenance & Calibration: Perform regular calibration routines, preventative maintenance, and inspection of robotic arms, peripherals, and system consumables.
- Technical Documentation: Document incidents, resolutions, and system observations to build a robust site knowledge base and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engineering Deployment Support: Assist remote and onsite engineering teams with hardware retrofits, software release validation, and post-deployment qualification runs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with customer scientists to coordinate protocol execution, communicate status updates, and align on operational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Background: Degree or equivalent practical experience in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Automation, or an allied discipline.
- Equipment & Automation Proficiency: Direct experience working hands-on with automated machinery, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems; adept at working from SOPs while leveraging engineering intuition.
- Technical Communication: Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to author precise incident reports and collaborate effectively with remote software and hardware teams.
- Operational Ownership: Detail-oriented mindset with a strong bias toward comprehensive documentation, root-cause investigation, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to support the specified evening shift and provide on-call support or schedule adjustments when critical customer runs require coverage.
- Shift: Thursday – Monday, 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Work Arrangement: Onsite
Why Join Us?
