Job summary

Medix™ is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to keep our automated robotic platforms reliable and high performing onsite in San Francisco. You will own monitoring, diagnostics, maintenance, and cross-functional collaboration with customer scientists and central engineering teams.

The role emphasizes real-time troubleshooting, data-driven incident reporting, and proactive health management for successful nightly protocol runs. Evening shift coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with automated machinery and electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs and engineering playbooks.
• Strong written communication for incident reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain system uptime and performance across daily protocol runs.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and electro-mechanical issues onsite.
• Submit clear incident reports with telemetry to escalate to core engineering teams.
• Monitor real-time health dashboards to identify and mitigate anomalies.
• Perform calibration, preventative maintenance, and inspection of robotic arms and peripherals.
• Document incidents and resolutions to build a site knowledge base.
• Support hardware retrofits, software release validation, and post-deployment tests.
• Coordinate with customer scientists to align on operational priorities.
