Job summary

Net2Source (N2S) is seeking a Systems Engineer to own Windows 11 imaging, provisioning standards, and deployment automation across a distributed enterprise environment.

You will create and maintain Windows 11 reference images, validate hardware compatibility, and drive large-scale migrations while collaborating with Product, Security, and Operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in CS/IT/Engineering.
  • 5+ years supporting enterprise Windows OS.
  • 3+ years creating/managing Windows images and deployment solutions.
  • Experience with Intune, Autopilot, MECM/SCCM, MDT or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11 deployment methodologies and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with device provisioning, driver management, and endpoint configuration.

  • Develop image standards, driver packages, and application installations.
  • Configure OS hardening in partnership with Cyber Security teams.

Job description

The Systems Engineer, Windows 11 Imaging & Deployment, is responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise Windows endpoint solutions across a distributed retail and corporate environment. This role owns the creation and maintenance of Windows 11 operating system images, device provisioning standards, deployment automation, hardware validation, endpoint configuration management, and lifecycle refresh activities.

The ideal candidate combines deep Windows engineering expertise with hands-on experience managing large-scale deployments using modern endpoint management platforms. They collaborate closely with Product, Security, Infrastructure, Operations, Support, and external vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and repeatable endpoint deployments while minimizing business disruption. Responsibilities include endpoint image creation, driver and application packaging, deployment automation, pilot execution, rollout planning, rollback readiness, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, maintain, and document enterprise Windows 11 reference images and deployment baselines.
  • Develop and manage image standards, task sequences, driver packages, application installations, security configurations, and hardware-specific customizations.
  • Configure and validate operating system hardening standards in partnership with Cyber Security teams.
  • Maintain version control, testing procedures, and deployment readiness processes for operating system releases.
  • Manage driver integration, firmware validation, and hardware compatibility testing.
  • Execute large-scale Windows 11 migrations, upgrades, and refresh initiatives.
  • Support deployment technologies including Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, MECM/SCCM, MDT, and related endpoint management solutions.
  • Create deployment rings, pilot strategies, rollback procedures, and phased rollout plans.
  • Develop automation for provisioning, imaging, software distribution, and operating system maintenance.
  • Ensure successful deployment of endpoints with minimal operational disruption.
Application & Hardware Compatibility
  • Validate operating system compatibility with business-critical applications, peripherals, and hardware platforms.
  • Perform testing and certification activities for printers, scanners, payment devices, and other connected peripherals.
  • Partner with vendors and engineering teams to troubleshoot deployment blockers and compatibility issues.
  • Maintain deployment readiness documentation and certification records.
Operational Support
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for endpoint-related incidents and deployment failures.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve imaging, provisioning, deployment, and configuration issues.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides, support playbooks, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis activities.
Program & Project Delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on deployment schedules, risks, milestones, and release plans.
  • Support pilot deployments, store rollouts, hardware refresh initiatives, and lifecycle replacement programs.
  • Track deployment metrics and operational KPIs including deployment success rate, image load success rate, endpoint health, and SLA adherence.
  • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Windows operating systems.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience creating and managing Windows images and deployment solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, MECM/SCCM, MDT, or equivalent deployment platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Windows 11 deployment methodologies, servicing models, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with enterprise device provisioning, driver management, software packaging, and endpoint configuration.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Group Policy, and endpoint security controls.
  • Experience supporting physical hardware deployment and validation activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting retail, POS, kiosk, or distributed endpoint environments.
  • Knowledge of Windows Update for Business and deployment ring strategies.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and deployment automation.
  • Understanding of TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, BitLocker, and endpoint hardening practices.
  • Experience leading large-scale Windows 11 migration programs.
  • Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management, vendor certification, and endpoint refresh initiatives.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud-based endpoint management architectures.
