Job summary

C2R Ventures in New York City seeks a versatile technologist to own the internal technology platform end-to-end. Qualifications

Our client, a NYC based fundamental long/short equity manager that pairs focused stock selection with disciplined portfolio construction and a technology-driven research process is seeking a jack of all trades to own the internal technology platform end-to end: the systems, infrastructure, tools, vendors, and operational processes that enable everyone across the firm to work efficiently and securely.

While traditional desktop software and hardware support is an initial aspect of the role, this will not be a narrow systems administration role. You will be the primary technologist responsible for the firm’s enterprise systems, our overall employee technology experience, SaaS and vendor ecosystem, security hygiene, enhancing AI enablement and automation, as well as constructing operational tooling across our offices in New York, Mumbai, and Shanghai.

You will own the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP), Cloudbox, who provides the base level of service and support for the firm. In this role, you will ensure that the Level 1 support experience provided by the MSP is streamlined through: processing certain items more efficiently internally, as well as undertaking more complex or strategic items that impact a wider set of users across the organization. Beyond these core responsibilities, the role is structured deliberately broadly to empower driving proactive improvement across our systems rather than conducting reactive support.

When systems are running well, your time is spent making the environment better and improving and hardening overall processes. You will work directly with and under the supervision of the Chief Technology Officer, with a clear path to expand scope as the firm grows.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Technology Operations & Support

• Own the relationship, experience, and be the primary point of contact for our Managed Service Provider, Cloudbox
• Own the day-to-day employee technology experience across the New York, Mumbai, and Shanghai offices
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues that extend beyond standard help desk support, coordinating across our various vendors to drive them to resolution
• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and operational runbooks
• Help us to continuously improve reliability, consistency, and usability of the environment
• Administer Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), including licensing, permissions, and identity and access management
• Manage endpoints and device lifecycle via Intune and Windows 365 / Cloud PC (Azure based) provisioning, configuration, and standardization of laptops, phones, and peripherals
• Own user onboarding and offboarding protocols and workstation provisioning across global offices

Security Operations

• Administer identity and access governance, MFA, endpoint compliance, and device security
• Implement security policies, conduct periodic permission reviews, and coordinate with the MSP on security initiatives and incident response

AI Enablement & Automation

• Evaluate and roll out AI tools across the firm
• Help internal teams adopt effective AI workflows and maintain shared prompt libraries, MCP connectors, and context management aids
• Identify repetitive operational work and build lightweight automations using PowerShell scripting, Power Automate, Python, AI tools, or other similar technologies
• Act as the primary relationship owner for our managed service provider (MSP), ISPs, security advisors, and hardware and software vendors
• Administer internal SaaS platforms including our lifecycles of license provisioning and optimizations, access reviews and utilization audits, and provide consolidation recommendations
• Manage hardware standards, refresh planning, inventory, warranties, and assist in technology budgeting and forecasting across our global offices
• At least 3-5 years of experience owning part or whole of an internal technology platform at a growing organization (or Master’s Level equivalent in Information Systems / Information Management)
• Strong hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows 365 / Cloud PC, endpoints, and networking
• Ability to manage multiple interrelated stakeholders, such as MSPs, vendors, procurement and licensing partners
• Strong awareness of security best practices across identity, access, MFA, and endpoint compliance, as well as EDM/XDR solutions
• High quality communication, documentation and facilitation habits spanning both technical and non-technical users
• Genuine interest in AI-enabled workflows and AI tooling (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, or heavy usage of web interface equivalents)

Nice to haves:

• Previous experience as an IT/technology lead in a small to mid-size organization, or as a senior engineer within a leading managed service provider or enterprise systems administration team
• Some relevant certifications, which we view as useful accreditation signals rather than requirements include: Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator Expert, ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent, Microsoft Certified Azure Network
• Hands-on programming and automation experience in Python, PowerShell, Power Automate, or similar automation tooling
