Job summary

PRI Technology seeks a Systems/IT Operations Engineer for a flagship bank in Midtown Manhattan. The role spans servers, networks, cloud platforms, and automation, partnering with engineering teams and vendors to build a resilient infrastructure in a hybrid Azure/on‑prem environment.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize IT operations; participate in on-call rotations; implement IaC; and support backup, disaster recovery, and security controls within a structured, high-availability setting.

Qualifications

• - Hands-on IT infrastructure experience in a complex, high-availability environment.
• - Experience with identity and access management: Active Directory, Azure AD, MFA, SSO, privileged access controls.
• - Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies.
• - Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP (Azure preferred).
• - Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform).
• - Monitoring/observability tools: Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, ELK, LogicMonitor.
• - Zero trust networking concepts and platforms: Zscaler, SASE, modern network security architectures.
• - Enterprise storage exposure (Dell APEX/ EMC) and backup/DR concepts.
• - Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs).
• - ITSM/ITIL processes; incident/problem/change management.
• - Strong troubleshooting and multi-tasking capabilities.
• - Excellent collaboration and communication with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• - 4-year college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate day-to-day IT infrastructure: servers, networks, storage, cloud, and apps.

I have a full time opportunity for a Systems/IT Operations Engineer in Midtown Manhattan for one of our top tier investment banks. This Systems Engineering role will work across systems, cloud, networking, and automation, you'll partner closely with engineering teams and vendors to build smarter, more resilient infrastructure.

The position requires strong hands-on technical expertise and will work in a hybrid environment (Azure & on-prem)

4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools; identify and resolve issues before they impact business operations.
• Respond to and troubleshoot infrastructure incidents, including server, network, storage, and application issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support, responding to critical incidents, outages, and operational escalations as required.
• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure technologies across cloud (Azure/AWS) and on-prem environments.
• Automate operational tasks and workflows using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Assist in backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes, including testing and validation.
• Analyze system logs, metrics, and alerts to identify root causes and recommend long-term improvements.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of operational standards, policies, and best practices.
• Support identity and access management, including user provisioning, authentication systems, and security controls.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience supporting IT infrastructure in a complex, high-availability environment.
• Support and maintain identity and access management systems, including Active Directory, Azure AD, MFA, SSO, and privileged access controls.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, or similar).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, ELK, LogicMonitor).
• Experience with zero trust networking concepts and platforms, including Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), secure access service edge (SASE), and modern network security architectures.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms, including Dell APEX / Dell EMC storage solutions, along with a solid understanding of backup technologies, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with ITSM tools and processes (incident, problem, and change management; ITIL familiarity preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of operational responsibilities
