The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is one of the Nation’s preeminent Housing Finance Agencies and one of the State’s ten largest financial institutions. Our mission is to finance the creation and preservation of affordable housing across the state. IHDA oversees more than 20 federal and state programs and serves as a primary resource for housing policy and program administration in Illinois. For over 50 years, IHDA has led in financing and supporting affordable housing.

Summary:

Perform as Systems Engineer for Active Directory, Office 365, SharePoint, Endpoint Management, Microsoft Teams, Teams Voice, Exchange, Hyper-V, and supporting the data center. Support Windows Servers, hardware, software, and user interactions. Requires knowledge of automation, scripting, system administration, and management. Work with minimal supervision as part of a 24x7 IT Operations support team, including on-call rotations and after-hours work.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform Windows Server administration, monitoring, performance analysis, tuning, disaster recovery, and capacity planning in a Hyper-V environment.
2. Routine operations: maintenance, security updates, backups, and system monitoring with Microsoft System Center tools.
3. Support and develop SharePoint environments, including site collections, sites, libraries, and enterprise lists.
4. Recommend and implement system enhancements for performance and reliability.
5. Manage user accounts, Active Directory, Office 365 licenses, Azure Cloud, Teams Voice, and Endpoint devices.
6. Evaluate system software usability, recommend upgrades, and perform installations and upgrades.
7. Assist in network administration, including security, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, firewalls, and software deployment.
8. Adhere to security guidelines and maintain security logs.
9. Support database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and availability groups.
10. Create and modify user and computer accounts, permissions, and security settings.
11. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and management tools.
12. Proficiency in SANs and proactive system availability management.
13. Monitor application performance and work with developers on fixes.
14. Maintain security, backups, redundancy, and develop scripts for automation.
15. Manage virus protection, document processes, participate in system design, and provide support.
16. Participate in alert monitoring and change management processes.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience with Microsoft Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with application stack performance tuning and Microsoft Azure virtualization, monitoring, automation, scripting, and networking.

Physical requirements include alternating sitting, standing, walking, stairs, crouching, reaching, repetitive movements, and lifting objects up to 15 pounds.
