PlanSource is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining critical client-facing systems and internal operations. You will work closely with other members of the IT team as well as other departments to ensure system stability and efficiency. The engineer needs to be agile to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment.

Your primary responsibilities/duties will include:

1. Assist in overseeing and following up on all installed systems and infrastructure (on-prem and cloud).
2. Support the design of information and operational support systems.
3. Safeguard security, redundancy strategies, and backups.
4. Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
5. Work with DevOps engineers to provide high levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
6. Assist with 2nd and 3rd level support.
7. Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower time on tasks.
8. Ensure all components have adequate monitoring and logging to prevent outages.
9. Test, configure, install, and maintain application software, system management tools, and operating systems.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in system administration/engineering within an enterprise environment
• Knowledgeable with VMware Infrastructure
• Experience with storage appliances (Dell and Pure Storage preferred)
• Basic knowledge of AWS and Azure services
• Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Entra ID
• Experience with formal change management, documentation, and automation
• Familiarity with monitoring systems (Solarwinds and Site 24*7 preferred)
• Knowledge of Windows PowerShell and scripting
• Understanding of networking, including VPN (Cisco experience helpful)
