Job summary

eagle Controls in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead Building Automation projects across the lifecycle. You will supervise Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians, drive project execution, budgeting, and client relationships to ensure profitable delivery.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in BAS or controls, strong HVAC and read drawings, and a track record of managing multi-million dollar contracts.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Building Automation or Controls project management experience.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies.
  • Experience with Building Automation platforms including Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Distech, Delta Controls, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and common building system integrations.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple Building Automation projects simultaneously throughout their lifecycle.
  • Leading project kickoff meetings, establishing project execution strategies, and providing leadership and direction to Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Engineers, and Field Technicians to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and commissioning agents while building long‑term customer relationships.
  • Managing project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to maintain overall project profitability, accurately forecast labor requirements, and evaluate labor productivity.
  • Preparing and negotiating change orders, reviewing and managing subcontractor pricing and agreements, and approving vendor purchases and material procurement to support successful project execution.
  • Leading and coordinating the technical execution of Building Automation projects, ensuring successful system implementation, commissioning, issue resolution, and compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to Project Managers and project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring contract compliance and accurate project documentation, resolving issues in a timely manner, and maintaining clear communication with leadership regarding overall project health and performance.

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Controls team located at our office in Charlotte, NC. Our ideal candidate for a Senior Project Manager is someone who has 8+ years of experience in Building Automation or Controls project management. This individual is an experienced Senior Project Manager with strong Building Automation Systems (BAS) expertise, proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to lead teams, drive financial performance, mitigate risk, and build strong customer relationships. They possess exceptional communication and organizational skills and have a track record of delivering projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar contracts.

Primary Responsibilities
