Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks an accomplished Physician or exceptional PhD Researcher (with a clinical partner) to become System Chief for the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine.

The System Chief will oversee a large, diverse faculty and coordinate administrative, clinical, research, and teaching missions across on-campus and off-campus sites. Strong NIH funding and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD or highly qualified PhD.
• New York medical license and board certification/eligibility in ID.
• Leadership in academic medicine, clinical practice, or professional societies.
• National recognition in clinical, translational, and/or basic research.
• Ability to develop a vision to sustain and grow all facets of the division's missions.

Responsibilities

• Overall management of the System Division of Infectious Diseases across Mount Sinai Health System.
• Oversee teaching for medical students, trainees, and continuing medical education.
• Develop and maintain fellowship programs meeting ABIM and RRC requirements.
• Grow NIH-funded research including training grants and centers.
• Mentor junior faculty and lead strategic planning for the division.
