Job summary

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, a 220-bed teaching hospital on the Brooklyn border, seeks a Division Chief of Infectious Diseases to provide clinical, academic, and operational leadership across the division.

The Chief will lead antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, education for residents and students, and collaboration with hospital committees, with opportunities for research and program growth. This role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment in an urban health system.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or foreign equivalent.
• Completion of a U.S.-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
• Fellowship training in Infectious Disease from an accredited institution.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Infectious Disease.
• Minimum 7–10 years of clinical experience in Infectious Diseases.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic medical center, healthcare system, or large physician practice.
• Must possess a current, unrestricted New York State license.
• Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
• Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
• BLS or ACLS required.
• Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
• Clinical proficiency in evidence-based medicine
• Record of excellence in clinical care, teaching, and/or research.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the delivery of high-quality infectious disease services.
• Establish and maintain evidence-based clinical standards and protocols.
• Provide expert consultation for complex infectious disease cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support expansion of inpatient and outpatient infectious disease programs.
