Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an AHN System Chair, Department of Hematology and Oncology, primarily based at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The role leads a growing program with divisions in Medical Oncology and Hematology/Cell Therapy, overseeing clinical and translational research and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board-certified in oncology and/or hematology.
• Completion of an ACGME-approved Oncology/Hematology Fellowship.
• Licensed in Pennsylvania prior to employment.
• 7+ years of experience in oncology/hematology.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to patient care and education.

Responsibilities

• Articulate a clear vision for the department and drive innovation.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop strategy and processes for patient care.
• Maintain current standards of care and accreditations for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Oversee research and development within the division and link to AHN goals.
• Lead programmatic and operational activities of the Department of Hematology and Oncology.
• Mentor and develop physician staff and team; participate in education of learners.
• Contribute to investigator-initiated trials, cooperative group and industry trials.
