Hawaiian Electric Companies is seeking a System Arborist - Oahu to administer and oversee system-wide vegetation management programs across roadside, transmission, and customer service areas. This role involves directing crews, site inspections, data management, and coordinating with internal and external customers to ensure safety and reliability.

The position requires 5–7 years in utility VM, arboriculture expertise, and the ability to travel by helicopter.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in urban forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, or related field.
• ISA Certified Arborist or current status to stay current in arboriculture.
• ISA Utility Specialist Certification preferred.
• Experience with vegetation management crew structures and methods.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (ANSI Z133, ANSI A300).
• Ability to manage contractor performance and budgeting.
• Willingness to hike distances and travel by helicopter.

Responsabilités

• Directs on-site vegetation management contractors to meet program goals and safety standards.
• Performs system-wide inspections and field audits to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Manages data, reports, and budget for vegetation programs.
• Provides technical support to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Develops and presents informational programs and testimony related to VM programs.
