Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a Sr. Arborist to lead vegetation management and ensure regulatory compliance in West Palm Beach or Melbourne, FL.

The role focuses on improving inspection and work quality, driving reliability, and enhancing customer satisfaction while managing budgets. Responsibilities include coordinating with power systems operations, government officials, and engineering teams, while promoting safety and ensuring contract compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED.
• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience.
• Experience: 5+ years.
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
• ISA Certified Arborist.

Responsibilities

• Audit inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and oversee line clearing activities.
• Coordinate with Distribution Control Center and repair crews for safe grounding and restoration.
• Engage with officials to advocate tree-planting away from power lines.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for a large workforce including budget approvals and compliance.
• Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly; support legal requests.
• Coordinate with engineering for proper clearances and vegetation methods during pre-construction.
• Promote safety and OSHA compliance; motivate and develop staff.
• Ensure all work meets contract scope and specifications.
• Design and approve work scopes for maintenance and capital projects.
• Support reactive work during outages and storms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
