Job summary

Semper Valens Solutions, Inc. (SVS) is seeking a Senior System Administrator to work on-site at APG, MD. The role includes providing empirical analysis of software systems, managing servers, and delivering desktop and printer support while ensuring robust backups and system monitoring.

The candidate should hold a TS/SCI clearance and possess 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical environment. Referral bonus of $1,500 is offered as part of this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as CS/Math/Engineering.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience within the last eight years.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional and empirical analysis of all software systems.
• Manage and upgrade servers, troubleshoot system problems.
• Support laptops, desktops, and printers; configure hardware and test software.
• Monitor server events and system configurations.
• Test OS, network software, and hardware components.
• Develop and monitor backups procedures for servers.

Responsibilities

The SA will provide functional and empirical analysis of all software systems. The SA's full time duty location will be onsite at APG.

Must have experience in the following:

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.
• Managing servers, which typically involves installing and upgrading the servers, as well as solving any kind of problems with the systems.
• Providing the essential software support for the laptops, desktop personal computers, and printers, including the configuration of the hardware devices, testing new software and designing the structure of the network.
• Monitoring the system configuration, including the server event log.
• Testing the operating system software, the networking software and also the computer hardware.
• Monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.
• Five (5) years of experience within the last 8 years.
