The System Administrator for Engineering Computing plays a crucial role in maintaining the unique computing infrastructure within the College of Engineering. The role is responsible for providing technical support for desktop systems, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), IoT devices, and networking infrastructure. The System Administrator ensures reliable operation and efficient use of technology by faculty, staff, and students while maintaining documentation. Additionally, the role includes installing, testing, coding, debugging, and managing existing applications, servers, and infrastructure, working with stakeholders to implement solutions that support the College’s mission.
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement consistent with university and state policies. Employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina within a two‑hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
