RTX in El Segundo, CA is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support a mixed Windows and RedHat environment. The role requires active Secret clearance, US citizenship, and 6-month certification target for DoD 8140/8570. The position is 100% onsite with potential after-hours work and up to 10% travel.

The team will operate in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with cybersecurity and senior staff to ensure secure, reliable systems across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve basic to moderate issues across hardware and OS.
• Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management.
• Engage in cross-team collaboration and align with leadership expectations.
• Manage ESXi, vCenter and Windows domains.
• Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, replication).
• Experience with RAID, encryption, and server management tools.
• Perform data backup and restore using best practices.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Work with Cybersecurity to maintain security requirements.
• Obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months.
• Role operates 24x7 and may require after-hours work.
• Travel up to 10% domestically as needed.

What You Will Do

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
• Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management.
• Engage in cross-team collaboration and align with expectations of leadership team.
• Manage ESXi, VCenter and Microsoft windows domains.
• Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
• Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools.
• Perform data backup and restore, using industry best practice.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
• Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Must have an active Secret US security clearance.

• Experience with cloning techniques.
• Use and guide use of automation tools e.g. Ansible.
• Experience with operating system concepts and implementations.
• Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy).
• Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware.
• Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
