Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a dedicated IT Systems Administrator in El Segundo, California. The candidate will provide systems administration in a mixed Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux environment and support the integration of hardware and operating systems.

This full-time, onsite position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and an active Top Secret security clearance. The ideal candidate will assist in managing ESXi, performing data backups, and ensuring system security while collaborating with team members and adhering to stringent operational procedures.

Job description

What You Will Do

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Work as a team member in a fast‑paced technological environment, using troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity, including integration of hardware and operating systems.
• Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management.
• Engage in cross‑team collaboration and align with expectations of the leadership team.
• Manage ESXi, vCenter and Microsoft Windows domains.
• Apply experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
• Use hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, and server management tools.
• Perform data backup and restore using industry best practice.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Obtain DoDD 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.
• Maintain systems operational 24×7; occasional work beyond standard hours may be required.
• Travel up to 10% per year to other U.S. domestic locations as business needs dictate.
• Full‑time 100% onsite position.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience deploying Windows workstations and migrating end‑user data.
• Experience with cloning techniques.
• Knowledge and use of automation tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with operating system concepts and implementations.
• Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (user and computer objects administration, Group Policy).
• Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environments (DC, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience supporting desktop/workstation hardware.
• Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

Salary Range

95,500 USD - 181,700 USD.
