Job description

IT & Infrastructure | The Enablers and Protectors
We are a 1,000-piece puzzle. Each of us is essential, interconnected, and intentionally designed. Together, we create something powerful: media that matters, growth that lasts, and a culture we are proud to build.

As part of our IT & Infrastructure team, The Enablers and Protectors, you build and safeguard the systems that keep our people connected and our business moving. You ensure the technology behind our work is secure, reliable, and scalable, empowering teams across the agency to collaborate, create, and deliver their best work. Your expertise helps turn complex technical challenges into seamless experiences, giving our people the tools and confidence to focus on what matters most.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Systems Administrator, you'll help manage, maintain, and strengthen the technology infrastructure that supports our people, operations, and client work. You'll work across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring our systems remain secure, efficient, and dependable.

Reporting to the Help Desk Supervisor, you'll take ownership of day-to-day systems administration, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and collaborate on infrastructure improvements that help our agency operate at its best. You'll also serve as a technical resource for the Help Desk team, sharing your knowledge and helping others grow their capabilities.

This is an opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, expand your ownership of critical systems, and grow toward a Senior Systems Administrator role.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises Windows and Linux servers, virtualization environments (VMware and Hyper-V), and network‑attached and storage area network systems (NAS/SAN).
  • Support storage infrastructure and large-file workflows used by creative, production, and business teams.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and connectivity.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they disrupt business operations.
  • Use infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, CloudMon.ai, or Datadog to identify trends, investigate alerts, and support system reliability.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and improvements to strengthen reliability, performance, and scalability.

Cloud Platforms & Identity Management

  • Administer Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments, including user accounts, permissions, licensing, security settings, and collaboration tools.
  • Support AWS and Azure cloud environments, including provisioning, monitoring, resource management, and basic cost tracking.
  • Manage identity and access management systems, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA), and Okta.
  • Support mobile device management (MDM) platforms such as Jamf and Microsoft Intune to maintain secure and consistent device configurations.
  • Assist with user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access changes, ensuring appropriate security controls throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system administration processes through automation, standardization, and more effective use of technology.

Security, Compliance & Documentation

  • Implement and maintain system security practices, including endpoint protection, patch management, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Support administration and monitoring of endpoint security tools, including CrowdStrike.
  • Assist in maintaining secure systems and protecting confidential client, campaign, and business information.
  • Support security reviews, remediation efforts, and ongoing improvements to the agency's technology environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, system procedures, troubleshooting guides, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support consistency, knowledge sharing, and operational continuity.

Technical Support, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as an escalation point for the Help Desk team, diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure, application, network, and system issues.
  • Partner with the Help Desk Supervisor on technology initiatives, infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and agency-wide rollouts.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to Help Desk team members, helping strengthen troubleshooting skills and overall team capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external technology partners to resolve issues and support business needs.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support during high‑priority agency activities, including client pitches, production shoots, and major launches, when needed.
  • Recommend tools, process improvements, and technical solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and the employee experience.
  • Stay current on emerging infrastructure technologies, cybersecurity practices, and opportunities to strengthen agency systems.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Experience & Technical Expertise
  • 3 to 5+ years of hands‑on experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server environments, including administration, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. Linux experience is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper‑V.
  • Familiarity with NAS/SAN storage technologies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery practices.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
  • Experience with firewall and network security solutions such as WatchGuard, Cisco Meraki, or Check Point SASE.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace environments.
  • Working knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, including provisioning, monitoring, and basic cloud infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management solutions, including Okta, SSO, and MFA.
  • Experience or exposure to endpoint management and security platforms such as Jamf, Intune, and CrowdStrike.
  • Understanding of security best practices, including patch management, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.
  • Experience using infrastructure monitoring tools to diagnose issues and maintain system performance.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
Capabilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and take ownership of assigned systems and responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential risks before they affect business operations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, system requests, and deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach to problem‑solving and a willingness to share technical knowledge with others.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential information, system access, and business‑critical infrastructure.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting technology infrastructure within a media, advertising, production, or creative agency environment.
  • Familiarity with rendering farms, digital asset management (DAM) systems, or large media file workflows.
  • Relevant technical certifications, such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
