Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience as a System Administrator in mixed OS environments (Linux & Windows).
• Strong knowledge of OS-level patching, package managers (YUM, APT, Chocolatey), and scheduled maintenance.
• Experience with virtualization platforms: VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in a hybrid environment.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Acronis, Bacula).
• Good understanding of system monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Prometheus.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Scripting ability in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation.
• Certifications like RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA/MCSE, or VMware VCP.
• Exposure to configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Manage and maintain Linux and Windows-based operating systems across development, test, and production environments.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly; monitor system performance and availability.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Virtual Machines (VMs) using tools such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
• Configure and monitor backup systems to ensure data integrity and quick disaster recovery.
• Perform routine system checks, file integrity monitoring, and log reviews.
• Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting, PowerShell, or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Maintain system documentation and procedures.
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for integrated support.
• Ensure system security through firewalls, user access controls, and vulnerability management.
