Qualifications

• IBM AIX Administration with 10+ years experience.
• Expertise in IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, VIOS, HMC and LPAR.
• Proficient with NIM and PowerHA/HACMP
• OpenShift Virtualization experience for modernizing VM workloads.
• Strong scripting: Shell, Ansible, Python; automation using OpenShift CLI.
• Performance tuning, capacity planning, security hardening, DR/backup.
• Experience in troubleshooting complex enterprise environments and root cause analysis.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, drive best practices and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead L3 administration, maintenance, and support of IBM AIX and Power Systems environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot PowerVC, virtualization lifecycles and capacity optimization.
• Design and support OpenShift Virtualization platforms for VM workloads.
• Perform upgrades, patching, tuning, security hardening, and capacity planning.
• Manage enterprise storage integration across SAN/NPIV/FC; ensure multipathing.
• Develop automation via Shell, Ansible, Python, and OpenShift CLI.
• Lead migration and modernization of AIX workloads and virtualization platforms.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions.
• Monitor availability, performance, capacity, and security aligning with SLAs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, maintenance, and Level 3 support of enterprise IBM AIX, IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPAR, NIM, and PowerHA environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot IBM PowerVC, including virtual machine provisioning, lifecycle management, capacity optimization, resource monitoring, and virtualization automation.
• Design, deploy, configure, and support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platforms to modernize and manage traditional virtual machine workloads.
• Perform advanced system administration activities, including AIX upgrades, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, capacity planning, automation, and root cause analysis.
• Manage enterprise storage integration across SAN, NPIV, Fibre Channel, multipathing, and IBM storage platforms.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Shell Scripting, Ansible, Python, and OpenShift CLI to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.
• Lead migration and modernization initiatives involving AIX workloads, PowerVM environments, PowerVC, and OpenShift-based virtualization platforms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, cloud, security, and application teams to design and implement resilient, scalable, and highly available solutions.
• Monitor platform availability, performance, capacity, and security while ensuring compliance with established SLAs, operational standards, and change-management processes.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, and implement preventive and permanent corrective actions.
• Provide Level 3 technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, support technical reviews, and drive operational best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational runbooks.
