Job summary

Kokosing Inc. is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support and optimize a hybrid enterprise IT environment, focusing on Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Microsoft 365 tenant administration.

The role requires strong Azure, M365, Entra ID, and PowerShell skills with a collaborative, security-conscious mindset. The successful candidate will implement and maintain security controls, monitor performance and cost, and contribute to incident response and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of systems administration experience.
• 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 environments.
• 3+ years supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience with hybrid identity, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Knowledge of Microsoft licensing and tenant governance.

Responsibilities

• Azure Cloud Administration: administer and support Azure infrastructure and services; manage VMs, networking, firewall, storage, and resources; optimize costs.
• Microsoft 365 Administration: administer tenants incl. Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive; Entra ID; license management; RBAC.
• Identity & Hybrid Infrastructure: support Entra ID/AD, Entra Connect/Azure AD Connect; GPOs; SSO; MFA; PIM/Zero Trust initiatives.
• Automation & Operations: develop PowerShell automation; monitor health; manage patches; assist incident response; document procedures.

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Microsoft 365 tenant administration to support and optimize a hybrid enterprise IT environment.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Azure Cloud Administration Administer and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services Manage Azure Virtual Machines, networking, firewall, storage accounts, and resource groups Configure and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments Monitor Azure resource utilization, performance, and cost optimization Support Azure backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions Implement and maintain Azure security controls and Conditional Access policies
• Microsoft 365 Administration Administer Microsoft 365 tenants, including: Exchange Online SharePoint Online Microsoft Teams OneDrive for Business Microsoft Entra ID Intune Manage user provisioning, licensing, and role-based access controls Configure Microsoft Defender and Purview security/compliance features Support Teams voice, meeting, and collaboration services Troubleshoot mail flow, authentication, and tenant-related issues
• Identity & Hybrid Infrastructure Support hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID environments Maintain synchronization using Entra Connect / Azure AD Connect Administer Group Policy Objects (GPOs) Support Single Sign-On (SSO), MFA, and Conditional Access Assist with Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Zero Trust initiatives
• Automation & Operations Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts Monitor system health, alerts, and operational metrics Support patch management and vulnerability remediation Participate in incident response and root cause analysis Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of systems administration experience
• 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 environments
• 3+ years supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Experience with: Microsoft Entra ID Exchange Online SharePoint Online Teams Administration Azure Virtual Desktop Intune / Endpoint Management PowerShell scripting Strong understanding of hybrid identity architecture Experience implementing MFA and Conditional Access Knowledge of Microsoft licensing and tenant governance

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator
• Experience with: Microsoft Purview Microsoft Sentinel Windows Defender Windows LAPS ServiceNow SCCM / Intune co-management CMMC / NIST 800-171 environments Experience supporting enterprise environments with 1,000+ users

Technical Skills
