Job summary

Champion Integrated Building Solutions (CIBS) in Humble, TX, is seeking a Switchgear Designer to develop detailed design packages for low- and medium-voltage switchgear, MCCs, and power distribution systems for industrial facilities.

The role involves preparing drawings, layouts, wiring schematics, BOMs, and coordination with engineers, procurement, and field services to meet customer specs and project schedules. Strong drafting skills and NEC knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Drafting.
• 3–7 years of switchgear/industrial electrical distribution design experience.
• Experience supporting EPC or industrial construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design packages for low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems.
• Prepare equipment layouts, general arrangement drawings, one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring schematics, interconnection diagrams, control schematics, cable schedules, and termination drawings.
• Coordinate switchgear designs with structural, electrical, mechanical, and project engineering teams to ensure complete system integration.
• Prepare Bills of Material (BOMs), equipment schedules, and supporting documentation for procurement and project execution.
• Review engineering revisions and incorporate customer-requested design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
