Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Screen & route incoming callsusing electronic attendant console.
Provide instructions & assistance to callers within and outside the medical center.

Essential Duties

• Process all incoming/outgoing calls
• Answer emergency calls & alarms and follow SOP regarding routing/ reporting
• Maintain appropriate records
• Perform overhead paging services as required within the hospital
• Provide general information as requested (I.e. visiting hours)
• Provide pager distribution within the hospital for specific VA employees

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
• Must have a good speaking voice.
• Minimal typing involved to access phone directory
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work any rotating shift if needed
• Must be able to pass criminal background check
• Must work well in a team environment & possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, decision-making and prioritization skills.
• Further Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
• Must have dependable transportation to and from work
