Job summary

Acero Precision in West Chester, PA seeks a CNC Setup & Production Machinist for Swiss-type lathes. You will set up, load tooling, read blueprints, and inspect parts to tight tolerances in a medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Strong understanding of Swiss machining and precision turning.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, indicators).
• Understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, work offsets and machining fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Swiss-type CNC lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and process docs.
• Select and install appropriate tooling.
• Set work offsets and adjust tools as needed.
• Perform first-piece, in-process and final inspections.
• Verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers and indicators.
• Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust as required.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
• Identify improvements to cycle times, quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
