Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled Swiss Lathe CNC Programmer/Operator for a first-shift role in a high-volume precision machining environment. The ideal candidate will program, set up, and operate Swiss-style CNC lathes, optimize processes, and ensure part quality through GD&T-compliant inspection.

Requirements include 3+ years of Swiss CNC experience and proficiency in editing CNC programs, with CAM experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Swiss CNC programming and setup experience preferred.
  • Experience with Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar Swiss-style CNC equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency in editing and troubleshooting CNC programs.
  • CAM programming experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and process optimization.
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss-style CNC lathes.
  • Develop and optimize machining processes to maximize efficiency, tool life, and part quality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and process documentation.
  • Select tooling, workholding, and machining strategies for each application.
  • Perform machine setups, prove-out new jobs, and make process adjustments as required.
  • Edit CNC programs and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Monitor tool wear and implement improvements to reduce cycle times and scrap.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and assist machine operators as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Crosstrain on other CNC equipment as needed.

Position Title: Swiss Lathe CNC Programmer/Operator Wage: $30.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Swiss Lathe Programmer / Operator to join a growing precision machining team. This company specializes in the production of high-volume, tight-tolerance components for industrial applications and are looking for an individual with strong Swiss machining experience who takes pride in producing quality parts efficiently and accurately. This position is ideal for a machinist who enjoys programming, setup, process improvement, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality and precision are critical.
