A modern machine shop is seeking a Senior Swiss and Lathe Programmer. The role involves programming and setting up Swiss screw machines and lathes, optimizing programs, and developing manufacturing documentation. Ideal candidates will have CNC programming experience, mechanical fabrication skills, and knowledge of precision machining for Aerospace, Medical, and Semiconductor industries. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Program and setup Swiss screw machines and lathes.
• Improve manufacturing process to reduce cycle-time and setup time.
• Develop manufacturing documentation and perform in-process inspections.
• Develop manufacturing documentation (setup instructions, in-process measurement drawings and process control measurement charts, and work-piece loading and unloading instructions).
• Perform in-process inspections.
• Improve manufacturing process to reduce cycle-time and setup time, and improve repeatability and finish on milled and turned parts.

Job Description

1. Program and setup Swiss screw machines and lathes.
2. Setup and optimize programs from other programmers.
3. Design and make fixtures and tooling for CNC Swiss and lathe operation.
4. Develop manufacturing documentation (setup instructions, in-process measurement drawings and process control measurement charts, and work-piece loading and unloading instructions).
5. Perform in-process inspections.
6. Improve manufacturing process to reduce cycle-time and setup time, and improve repeatability and finish on milled and turned parts.

Qualifications

1. CNC programming using Part Maker (or similar CAM software) and CAD modeling using SolidWorks would be ideal.
2. Mechanical fabrication skills including drilling, turning, and milling.
3. Knowledge of precision machining requirements for Aerospace, Medical and Semiconductor industries preferred.
4. Experience working with Fanuc controllers.
5. Excellent communication skills
