Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Swiss CNC Setup Machinist to perform setup and operation on close-tolerance parts using CITIZEN, STAR and TSUGAMI Swiss-type lathes. You will ensure parts meet quality standards and approve first pieces before turning over to an operator.

The role emphasizes reducing cycle times, maintaining tool life, and collaborating with programmers to optimize processes. Training other operators may be required to share best practices and maintain high standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years Swiss-type CNC setup experience on CITIZEN, STAR, or TSUGAMI.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Set up jobs on Swiss-type lathes (CITIZEN/STAR/TSUGAMI) including guide bushing setup.
Work with the programmer to ensure accuracy of setup instructions.
Perform 1st piece approval and hand-off; train/oversee operators.
Maintain cycle time, tool life and quality improvements.
Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
Operate machines between setups and monitor stock, coolant, and wear.
Document inspection data and maintain a clean, organized work area.
