Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Swiss CNC Setup Machinist to set up and operate complex, close-tolerance jobs on Swiss-type lathes. You will ensure parts meet quality standards and perform 1st part approval before turning over to operators.

Responsibilities include setting up CITIZEN, STAR, or TSUGAMI machines, following documented processes, and training other operators as required. The role emphasizes precision, problem solving, and safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings, including tight-tolerance turned-part prints.
• Minimum 2 years Swiss-type CNC setup experience (CITIZEN, STAR, TSUGAMI preferred).
• Working knowledge of guide bushings, bar feeders, and sub-spindle/live tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs on Swiss-type lathes (CITIZEN, STAR, TSUGAMI) including guide bushing setup, bar feeder loading, and sub-spindle/live tooling.
• Follow established manufacturing processes and work with programmers to ensure accuracy of setup instructions.
• responsible for 1st piece approval and hand-off, and may train/oversee multiple operators.
• Ensure cycle time expectations are met or exceeded.
• Make offsets, speed/feed and rapid edits to improve cycle time, tool life and quality.
• Document inspection data and results, maintaining quality standards.
