Thompson Metal Fab, Inc. is seeking a skilled Swing Shift Prefab Machine Operator in Vancouver, WA.

The role involves operating steel processing machines to support fabrication tasks such as cutting, forming, and preparing materials using plasma, beamline, press brakes, rolls, and saws. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of metal processing experience, with ability to read shop drawings and cut sheets.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience operating metal processing machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret cut sheets and nesting information.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings.
• Familiarity with various material types including ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.
• Understanding of equipment parameters, speeds, and feeds.
• Familiarity with heavy plates and materials associated with bridge building.
• Knowledge of standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot/cold environments.

Responsabilidades

• Operate machinery to process steel materials, including plasma, oxy-fuel, beamline, plate processor, press brake, and saw.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials.
• Cross train on other machines in the Prefab Department.
• Read cut sheets and shop drawings; follow instructions.
• Measure and inspect parts for accuracy.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized work area.
• Communicate effectively with teammates to achieve production goals.
• Endeavor to improve production, quality, and safety.
• Prioritize safety and follow all rules.
• Perform other duties as needed.
